Welcome
Bloctel
Do you no longer wish to receive unsolicited phone calls? Consider Bloctel, a French telephone opt-out list that will protect you from commercial telemarketing.
What is Bloctel?
Do you want to block telemarketing calls but don’t know how? These sales practices can be stopped thanks to Bloctel, a French service regulated by the law below:
Under Law No. 2020-901 of July 24, 2020 aimed at regulating telephone solicitation and combating fraudulent calls, you may exercise your right to object to telephone solicitation at any time.
Bloctel is indeed a dedicated service that, as the government explains on https://www.economie.gouv.fr/ , « protects consumers from abusive telephone marketing practices. » In the form of a telephone marketing opt-out list, Bloctel is easily accessible to everyone.
In short, this service is convenient and simply allows anyone registered on this list to have their phone number (landline or mobile) removed from the marketing databases of telemarketing professionals. No more unwanted calls!
How does Bloctel work and how much does it cost?
Bloctel is easy for individuals to use. It’s a free service where you register your number, but you can also add the numbers of your spouse or children to block telemarketing calls to those numbers.
Another important point: no professional is authorized to solicit a consumer registered on the Bloctel list. Failure to comply with this rule can result in a fine of €375,000 (or €75,000 if the consumer is an individual). However, some exceptions exist and are listed by law.
Here are a few examples, listed on the government website https://www.economie.gouv.fr
You may still be contacted despite everything:
- By professionals specializing in the supply of newspapers , periodicals or magazines.
- Polling institutes and non -profit organizations may also contact you, provided they are not engaged in commercial prospecting.
- By the company with which you have an ongoing contractual relationship . For example, to offer you new products or services to supplement, modify, or replace the existing service between you (examples include your bank, telephone company, and insurer).
- Through service providers with whom you have already had a contractual relationship (such as your former telephone company or bank)
- In the event that you freely, specifically, knowingly and unambiguously provided your number to be called back
